Our assessment services aim to aid an individual and his or her superior in understanding the nature of the individual's problems.

Effective treatment begins with an accurate assessment of the individual's spiritual, emotional, and psychological state. It also is important to understand the impact of the individual's difficulties on the larger community of which he or she is a part.

Our comprehensive psychodiagnostic assessment allows the evaluation team to make recommendations for optimal treatment, whether in this program or elsewhere. Our commitment is to assist those requesting an assessment to choose the best possible course of action.

The assessment is conducted over a four day period. It includes:

  • A complete battery of psychological tests with an in-depth clinical interview. Click here for a complete listing of the tests.
  • A thorough psychosocial history of the person's family background, significant child-through- adulthood experiences, and current presenting issues with particular attention to longstanding patterns of difficulty
  • A spiritual assessment which sensitively reviews a client's spiritual journey and an in-depth interview with a spiritual director
  • (Although not a standard component of the assessment process, a complete medical exam can be included if requested.)
  • A conference in which the client, evaluation team, and preferably the major superior or bishop review the results and discuss the most viable alternatives for addressing the person's difficulties
  • Detailed reports of the assessment, furnished to the client and the superior, within ten business days

The comprehensive assessment is required of all participants who may be candidates for the Intensive Treatment Program; however, assessments performed at other institutions are reviewed at no charge.

This link is for prospective clients who are scheduled to participate in the comprehensive assessment procedure. It contains two instruments that we request clients complete prior to their arrival at the Center as well as instructions for their use.
