The goal is to bring effective intervention modalities to bear on the recovery of each individual in a manner that is respectful of his or her needs and honest with respect to the difficulties which confront the person. It is intensive, goal-directed, interpersonally focused, and multimodal. Each of the program components is essential to the treatment process. Individual Psychotherapy allows a client to establish and maintain personal contact with an experienced, licensed, and supportive professional. This relationship serves as the core relationship, during which the client explores delicate and sensitive areas of his or her life and begins learning about and practicing new ways of acting and thinking. Spiritual Direction enables the client to integrate psychological and emotional growth into his or her own spirituality. The Intensive Treatment Program is solidly grounded on the premise that spiritual healing is essential for transformation. The treatment of religious and clergy would be incomplete without this component as it is spirituality which accords a sense of meaning and significance beyond simple psychological insight. Group Psychotherapy serves as a potent venue for change. It is in this context that a person learns to present himself or herself honestly, to hear and incorporate objective feedback about the effects of his or her behavior, and learn healthier and more productive ways of relating. Life Skills Training Workshops include experiential activities designed to teach individuals important skills to help them manage their lives more successfully. Anger management, establishing healthy boundaries, family dynamics, spirituality, sexuality and celibacy are some of the areas of focus. This sophisticated series of workshops is conducted with all clients in the program to facilitate rapid skill acquisition. |
